September Scenes

Wow! August went by so fast. I was not ready for another month to be gone; but here it is. This is the part of year I treasure most because it means this year of craziness is getting close to the end; and the holidays are almost here–Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas–my favorite. And it is an election year, so we will be voting in one of the most important elections of our time. And hopefully, no matter the outcome, we will come together as a nation in unity, peace and love. That is my wish for the USA. What a perfect ending to a tumultuous year that would be.

I continue to keep busy with fidget sleeves, fish aquarium kits and chocolate candies as sales begin to increase. It is always fun to come up with unique designs.

I welcome any suggestions or challenges for new projects from all of you as well. Message me or reply on this post if you would like me to make something unique or special for you.

Do I have any dog lovers in the group? Here is my special cookie recipe that my dogs love. I change up the ingredients each recipe so they are always a little different than the last batch. Cut, peel and grate 2-3 apples (I use Fuji or Gala) into large bowl; shred/grate 2 peeled carrots, add 1 egg, 1/3 cup veggie oil and 1 Tablespoon of brown sugar. Mix well. Add 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/2 cups oatmeal (can add 1/2 tsp cinnamon if your dog likes that flavor–mine do not.) Mix all together; if too dry, add a few spoonfuls of water to moisten. Drop by large spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for approximately 35 minutes (less time if scoops are smaller). They are very soft, yet crunchy on edges. I refrigerate them to keep them fresh. Other ingredients you can add: banana, pumpkin, peanut butter (reduce the oil if you do peanut butter) Your doggies will thank you.

Until next month, I hope everyone stays safe (with all the fires, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes…) and healthy.
